En otoño de 2020, Ned Boulting (comentarista de ciclismo de ITV y obsesionado con el Tour de Francia) adquirió una bobina de noticias de Pathé de una casa de subastas de Londres. Una vez restaurada, quedó claro que era una pequeña secuencia de tomas de la etapa 4 del Tour de Francia de 1923. Ned se dedicó a aprender todo lo que pudo sobre la secuencia, estudiando cada fotograma, cara y edificio hasta que extrajo el significado de ella.
